STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

Applying to an Academy is the equivalent of applying to 10 colleges. It’s that complex.
Are you willing to go through the gauntlet to get your dream?
If you’re a junior, prepare yourself mentally for a marathon, not a sprint. This will start in January and probably not end until April of the following year. It’s a doozy.
If you are a senior or re-applicant, you’re buckling down on getting that nomination, and knocking out the final stages of the application. CFAs, interviews, medical, etc.
Here’s a few steps Seniors/Re-applicants can take that many don’t:
– Taking the SAT/ACT just one more time
– Keeping in close contact with your ALO/BGO/Field Force rep & Regional Admissions advisors
– Snagging another leadership position, & adding it to your application
– Contacting the coaches to ask about walking on
Here’s a few steps Juniors can take that many don’t:
– Take the SAT early
– Visit the Academies!
– Visit an operational base near you.
– Get extra tutoring in math/science classes
– Go to sports camp at the Academies
