Air Force Academy, 2007 – U.S. Air Force Veteran
Travis knows exactly what it feels like to be a junior in high school staring down the Service Academy application process. It’s overwhelming, and without someone who’s been through it, it’s hard to know where to begin. For Travis, that someone was a family member who was an Academy graduate. Their guidance made all the difference.
After graduating from the Air Force Academy and going on active duty, Travis became an Admissions Liaison Officer (ALO) to do for others what had been done for him: helping young people navigate the same process he’d lived through. And with everyone he helped, he saw the same frustrations repeated over and over. So, he created the support he knew could help.
Today, Travis is a parent himself, and he understands how much your child’s future matters. He also knows firsthand what an Academy education can do for a life. He built AE to make sure more young people get that chance to aim for their dreams.
West Point, 2010 – U.S. Army Veteran
JJ’s path through the Army covered nearly every experience the service has to offer: from Ranger School and combat deployment in Afghanistan to graduate school and teaching cadets at West Point. Fifteen years of service gave him a firsthand understanding of what the Army demands from its officers, and what it takes to become one. He also appreciates how difficult it is to get accepted; JJ re-applied to West Point and attended ROTC for one year after getting denied the first time.
Now he brings that perspective directly to Academy Endeavors’ clients. JJ’s favorite moment in the coaching process? Hearing a future officer answer the question: Why do you want to serve?
Air Force Academy, 1994 – U.S. Air Force Veteran
Brendan spent twenty years as an Air Force intelligence officer, fighter pilot, and ROTC detachment commander. He sat on a U.S. Senator’s nomination interview board and evaluated dozens of AFROTC scholarship applicants. In short, he knows exactly how the selection process works — and what the strongest candidates do differently.
As an interview coach at Academy Endeavors, Brendan’s focus is simple: make sure every candidate walks into their interview prepared, confident, and ready to earn their nomination.
Naval Academy, 2002 – U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
Justin graduated from the Naval Academy in 2002 and served nine years as a Marine Corps officer. For the past eleven years, he’s worked as a Blue and Gold Officer (BGO), mentoring and evaluating applicants on behalf of the Naval Academy. He’s assessed hundreds of candidates and understands what the admissions process is actually looking for.
At Academy Endeavors, Justin guides candidates through the interview process: structuring their responses, strengthening their stories, and preparing them to answer questions with confidence. For him, the work is personal. Helping motivated young people pursue a life of service to something bigger than themselves is exactly where he wants to be.
