TIPS TO LAND YOUR CONGRESSIONAL NOMINATION

Young people, nominations are coming in hot! So here’s last minute tips for Congressional nominations.

– Address. Some offices require the application to be mailed in. If so, mail it to the correct address!

– Recommenders. Some offices want you to upload the letters of recommendation yourself. Others ask for the recommender to mail it in. Be clear with your recommenders on what they need to do to help you…make it easy on them!

– Online vs. Hard Copy. Some recommenders have online portals; others have word doc applications. Get it in on time in the correct format!

– Double check. Once you submit, kindly follow up with the staffer to see if they need anything else from you.

– Staffer rapport. Lastly, be professional with the staffer. They just might be on your selection panel!
